Tip Shield rough 90°, Bow Tips
Information according to manufacturer
According to the manufacturer Tip Shield is nearly indestructible. This is by far the strongest bow tip material available. The material itself is a high strength polymer developed and made in the USA by David Warther. The heads will not break off during application or in use. Tip Shield also takes a high polish and has an off white-light almond color.
Application information:
1) The head has been precision milled and needs no sanding or shaping. It is ready to go for you. Prior to gluing, the artisan should remove 90% of the material that will not be seen in the final product. You are taking the rectangular shaped tip and working it into being a U shaped tip before gluing it.
2) The floor has been very finely cut. This cut surface is ready to go if you use hide glue, epoxy glue, gorilla glue or any glue other than a CA super glue. We recommend a CA super glue over standard wood adhesion glues. The wood glues hold but the CA is an excellent hold.
3) If using a CA glue (Superglue) the artisan should sand the floor with a 150X paper and then a 360X paper or, if one wishes to avoid sandpaper, one can file this floor with a very fine file. By making the surface smooth it will hold very well with CA glue.
4) Finishes easily by sanding and hand buffing with any paste wax and a hand buffing cloth.
