What are the advantages of Coruss Bow Hair? It?s a real traveller?s choice! Coruss hair is vegan. It does not absorb a lot of humidity and lasts in average longer as horsehair.
Is Coruss Bow Hair more durable than horsehair? Yes, it is very durable. It is resistant to environmental changes which lead to a slower lengthening of the hair. It can be stored for a long period without quality loss.
Is the processing different to rehairing horsehair? Yes. You have to work carefully. Due to its resistance to humidity you do not have to make the hair ribbon wet. But on the downside, you cannot heat the ribbon to shorten it in the end. See video below.
How many grams have a violin, viola, cello, bass hank? Coruss is lighter and therefore you can make a hank with a lot of hair. We offer ribbons for violin/viola bows with 5,5 g and for cello with 7,5 g. Of course, you can get bundles of 125, 250 and 500 g.
